Weather

The Nilgiris are between 900 to 2636 metres above MSL, so during the summer months the maximum temperature can be expected to range between 21°C and 25°C.  Summer nights are normally around 10°C to 12°C.

During the winter the temperature can reach 16°C to 21°C and can drop as low as 2°C at night.

The South West Monsoon and the North East Monsoon are annual visitors to the Nilgiris.

Average annual rainfall of the District is around 1700mm
